In February, we travelled to Warsaw to meet Angela. Originally from Zaporozhye, she is now based in Warsaw with a foundation taking care of Ukrainian Children – in particular those with special needs such as Autism, Downs and Oligophrenia.
We were connected by our friend Mark from Arizona and we were able to meet her request for soft educational toys to help with lessons to deal with trauma.
We spent a very interesting but all-too-brief afternoon in Warsaw and handed in person our two suitcases filled with vacuum-packed teddies, puppets, gloves, toys and chocolates.
We need say no more other than study the faces of the children to see the pure emotions in their eyes and smiles.
The kindness of your support – and donations – allows this to happen.
Special thanks to Hero Bears for Refugee Children and Worle Baptist Church , plus our friends around the world. This was a very very important delivery and to the knitters who made such amazing bears in such a short space of time – you are true heroes!
